In dieser Arbeit soll die Planung und Umsetzung einer Softwarebibliothek beschrieben werden, welche die Transportschicht des neuen Extoll-Netzwerks innerhalb der BrainScaleS Neuromorphic Computing Platform darstellt, sowie die Integration der Bibliothek in den existierenden Softwarestack. Sowohl das zugrunde liegende Kommunikationsprotokoll als auch anwendungsspezifische Funktionalitäten, die auf dieser Softwareschicht basieren, werden im Background-Kapitel erklärt. Darauf folgt eine Übersicht der technischen Anforderungen und Designentscheidungen der Bibliothek und deren Umsetzung im Bezug auf verschiedene Anwendungs- und Testfälle. Abschließend werden die erreichten Ziele zusammengefasst und ein Ausblick auf mögliche
Verbesserungen gegeben.

This work describes the design and implementation of a software library realizing the transport layer for the new Extoll network of the BrainScaleS Neuromorphic Computing Platform and its integration into the existing software stack. The underlying communication protocols are explained in the background chapter as well as the application level functionality that depends on this work. Later we give an overview of the requirements and the design choices concerning the software library followed by their concrete implementation together with sample use and test cases. To conclude the thesis, the current state and the target state are compared accompanied by a list of possible improvements and future work.
