Abstract (en) | This work adresses primarily the sequence-based search for patterns in the genomes of chordata, fungi as well as protists. In the beginning the Alu-sequences will be examined for patterns in the genomes of primates, which remained conserved in the course of evolution. Furthermore dierent approaches for the search of patterns on phylogenetically distant genomes, e.g. the examination of certain biologically relevant sequences, as well as the synteny will be discussed. Additionally the analysis of the smallest structures within the genomes of dierent species on the level of monomers, dimers and trimers will be implemented. The most frequent sequences with a length of 18 base pairs common in several organisms will be analysed. Eventually the most frequent sequences of the human genome, which are suited for usage as a DNA-probe, will be examined. |
