The Human Brain Project (HBP) was a large-scale EU scientific research project that ran from 2013 to 2023. It was one of the first two FET-funded EU flagship projects and involved researchers from over 100 partner institutions. Prof. Karlheinz Meier, the founder of the Electronic Vision(s) research group, was one of the three initiators of the project. As one of two neuromorphic platforms within the HBP, the Electronic Vision(s) research group and its BrainScaleS, has been an integral part of the research project from the beginning.
