| Abstract (en) | The Standard Model of particle physics predicts triple-gauge boson production that test the non-abelian electroweak gauge structure. This thesis reports the first measurement of $ZZγ$ production with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The analysis uses the full Run 2 dataset (2015--2018), corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 140 fb-1 of proton-proton collisions at √s=13 TeV. The study targets the fully leptonic final state, pp→ ZZγ→?+?-?'+?'-γ A fiducial region is defined to suppress contributions from photon final-state radiation and maximize the signal-to-background ratio. The dominant background — non-prompt photons from jets — is estimated with a novel jet-ratio method that extrapolates from a high-statistics control region, achieving a relative systematic uncertainty of 18% on this background. Eight candidate events are observed with an expected background of 0.92±0.15 events, corresponding to a significance of 4.4σ. The fiducial cross-section is measured as σfidZZγ=0.144-0.053+0.077 (stat.)±0.005 (syst.) fb in agreement with the Standard Model prediction of 0.143±0.005 fb. This measurement validates the Standard Model description of electroweak triple-gauge boson production within its uncertainties and provides a benchmark for future studies of anomalous quartic-gauge couplings with larger datasets. |
