    A Peltier element is used for warming and cooling the specimen.
    The temperature is measured using a Pt1000 thermometer.

    As an approximation, an expresion
    			Temperature = ( Voltage - 1.000325 ) * 259.2684
    can be used.
    The tuning of the Peltier-Element and the readout of the Pt1000 thermometer are performed via a separate amplifier, which is controlled via the AD ports of the lock-in amplifier.

The three most important devices are presented on the picture to the right.
Left upper part: the wave form generator DS 340,
Right upper part: the high voltage battery,
Lower part: the lock-in amplifier SR 530.

   The lock-in amplifier SR530 by Stanford Research Systems is an analog double phase lock-in. It can measure two signals X = A×cos(φ) and Y = A×sin(φ) in parallel. Further information about the funktionality of a lock-in can be found in the task instructions and on http://www.lockin.de .
  
   The high voltage battery is self-made. It is produced in the Electronics Division of the Kirchhoff-Institut für Physik. It consists of twelve 9V block batteries connected in series, which produces up to 108 V. This voltage is conducted out via a series resistance of approx. 300 MOhm.
