Beetle 1.2
Beetle 1.2 is an improved version of the Beetle 1.1. All missing features are now implemented, especially the logic is now robust
against SEU.
Chip and pad layout of the Beetle 1.2
Beetle 1.2 pad-description specifies all
Beetle pads, positions and pad types.
Improvements of Beetle 1.2
- Single Event Upset (SEU) robustness of all digital parts
- Hard wired Beetle chip Id (defined via bond pads)
- Fixed all known bugs in our logic
- Readout within 900 ns
- Added status information in the data header
- Working daisy chain concept
- Fixed crazy readout at very low trigger rates
- New analog frontend (add-in from BeetleFE 1.1)
- New reset concept (external reset + power-up reset)
- Modified comparator (disable of individual channels, SEU robust logic, ...)
- New tespulse circuit (TP on individual channels, ...)
- Elongated analog input pads
- Fully differential output drivers (analog and LVDS operation mode)
- Added Schmitt-Triggers to I2C pads SDA / SCL
- Improved power routing (additional pads)
- Smaller die size: 5.1 mm x 6.1 mm
- Modified biasing of LVDS transmitters (reduced power consumption)
- on-chip trigger synchronization
- new I2C-Interface (add-in from BeetleSR 1.0)
- counter for SEU events
