Quick summary of improvements on Beetle 1.3

  • resize chip dimension to 5.4mm x 6.1mm
  • modifications in comparator design, 5 bit channel resolution
  • power:
    • new power pads at analogoue input
    • power routing changed in front-end (esp. shaper), power blocking
    • pipeamp power routing (already done on Beetle12MA0)
    • merged pad openings of adjacent power pads
    • separation of digital multiplexer power and digital core power
    • separation of power comparator core <-> comparator LVDS pads
    • 2 new power pads for digital core (located on bottom side, between power pads of comparator core / LVDS pads
  • moved all current mirrors in front-end from top-side to bottom side
  • new current output driver (inc. gain)
  • fixed overvoltage problem
  • 5V tolerant I2C pads
  • reduced number of FF in multiplexer
  • removed switching spikes in readout header
  • fixed crosstalk from readout header into first readout channel
  • fixed sticky charge problem
  • fixed baseline problem in consecutive readouts (run away of baseline)
  • changed testpulse pattern
  • new probe for current DAC measurements
  • fixed daisy chain bug (problem with RoReTokenIn-pad)
  • fixed limitation Rclk divider ratio
  • reduced number of clock buffers in Beetle core
  • ...
