UMC technology installation for Cadence

The UMC technology, a 0.18um CMOS technology is avaliable without any device generator, so you have to make our own devices. For DRC and LVS you have to use Calibre. For more information contact your CAD Administrator.

To install it, add the following line in your .bashrc file in your login directory:

      export UMC_DIR=/cad/libs/umc_kit1.0

      export MGC_HOME=/cad/products/mentor

Make your .bashrc files sourced, e. g. by opening a new shell.

Invocation of cadence for UMC technology

Change into the directory you created for the technology you wanted to use, e. g. ~/libs/umc. Type

      $UMC_DIR/artist/umc_18/umc_cds

This will invoke a script that sets up all necessary files.
